Ok, so I have a desktop with a wireless connection. The internet works, but every site that loads has a 10-30 second wait time where the website is inoperable, and a little message is at the bottom of the page that says "waiting for ip-api.com..." While this message is displayed, the page operations are not accessible, such as links on the page, or even the Stop and Refresh keys for the browser. Once the message disappears, the websites work perfectly fine. This message appears across Firefox, Opera, and Chrome browsers. Here are some links to the message in question. (Message is in bottom left corner)

Also, ip-api.com appears to be a real website. Why it's hindering page loading and page accessibility, I have no idea. I haven't changed any settings, but cannot for the life of me understand why this message keeps coming up. It doesn't seem to be any specific website, it pops up on virtually all of them I visit.

So, to recap:
WebPage starts to load fine.
"Waiting for ip-api.com..." shows up in bottom left corner stopping all site functionality.
10-30 seconds later, message disappears, website functions fine.
Appears across multiple browsers.

Did try to search for others with this issue, but I got nowhere with it. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Is there any reason this would start stopping page functionality for up to 30 seconds at a time on all websites? I've never noticed it until the last few days and now it makes browsing maddening. Is there any way to stop it?

Update, I've verified from other wireless computers on the same network that it does NOT display the message or hinder any functionality.

This has just started happening to me as well about 2 weeks ago. It is very frustrating. I am watching this thread for a real idea of what is causing this. It appears to only happen with Chrome for me and not Internet Explorer.

I don't know about the original poster, but I have scanned and I am cleared. I don't have any apps on at the moment. I turned off all extensions. I wish it would block the site.

Hello,

I run the ip-api.com service. It seems our service is being used in some kind of malware that modifies network traffic (which explains why you're seeing this in all browsers and all websites) and injects javascript (probably ads). If you have this issue, would it be possible to email me at <<removed>> with the source code (press CTRL+U) of any website of your choosing, and the website in question? I want to compare and see what javascript is being injected, and possibly alert users that they are infected with this virus, if I can detect a pattern.
