So bought a 2TB external HDD a couple of months ago, and only 1.81TB were available. I found that normal, and didn't really care.
Now I've checked the harddrive, and it still says that 1.81TB are usable, but only 1,46TB are available to use because the other part has already been used.
But when I check the folders on that HDD, it says that it only has 50GB. That means that around 300GB are used but by nothing.
What's going on with it?

You could try reformatting the drive but your always going to have less than the stated capacity. 1MB=1024KB but when it shows the space it calculates 1MB as 1000KB thus the difference in available space.
