Hi Everyone
My son has a Dell Inspiron 545 with an nvidia gt 220 graphics card. He wants to play a new game called Wild star which means the gt220 is next to useless. Can anyone advise the most powerful g card i can upgrade to using the same pc?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

English bob.

You may however need a new power supply to run the new card. If you have a stock dell power supply thats no good you will need to buy a new one with at least 400 watts and a pci-e express cable. the corsair cx 500 is a decent cheap one.

Thanks for your quick response. Its really helpful. His pc keeps crashing when playing games. I'm wondering if this new power source will help to resolve this.

Its possible but its more likely the computer is being pushed to hard by the game and the cpu and gpu overheat then it crashes. You could try going to graphics setting on the game and turning them down that might make the game run smoother and stop crashing.

Well that is a decent enough CPU for wild starr so i would assume its your gt 220 graphics card overheating and crashing the system. I would get a new graphics card, do you know how many Watts your power supply is i may be able to recommend a graphics card that will work with your current power supply.
