Hi,

Recently got a H110 CPU Cooler and the pump was making an annoying buzzing sound. I returned it for a replacement, which is no also making the buzzing sound.

Her's a short video where the sound can be heard -

Is this normal? Or should I have it replaced (again...)?

Thanks
Paul

i'm surprised... do you not have fans on the h110?

if you want something more quiet go with a h100i, that allows you to modify pump speeds and fan speeds on the desktop.

Heck... if you really want to get whisper quiet dump water loops all together and get yourself a NH-D14 or NH-D15

I agree with ingtar33. When I was leak testing my loop with Koolance pmp-450s pump running @24v max it was making a similar noise but when I turned all my fans on you couldn't hear the noise over the fans.

It's the loudest thing in my system, hence why I'm considering returning it.

I have 4 Noctua NF-A14 fans on the H110. I'd rather not go to a H100i as the 140mm fans I've bought won't fit.

I can adjust the pump speeds in my bios and make it quiter but I've read that the pump should run at full speed all the time.

yeah... i'm not sure you want to play with the pump speeds on the h110... but if you want to give it a shot... know that 1500rpm on the motherboard bios control will set it to 100% speed... you can scale it back as you see fit... though i don't know if the corsair h110 should be run with a reduced pump speed.

4 Noctua NF-A14 fans should be loud enough to cover the pump speed even if the fans are at lowest setting. This is really shocking. My build contains 11 noctua nf-f12s which are all really quiet but still cover the pumps noise. I also have a noctua nh-d14 which is really quiet so if you want ultra quiet + amazing cooling noctua nh-d14 is amazing, I am sure the D15 would be even better.

Had a Phanteks air cooler, but decided to with an AIO because of the decent cooling power and the aesthetics - it looks a LOT better round my CPU and RAM now.

My only alternative is to try a different AIO with a 280mm radiator, like the X60 or Nepton perhaps?

Any recommendations?

Thanks for the suggestion but the H220 won't support the 140mm fans I have.

The X60 is a great choice in that case.
