I have just recently built my first gaming pc, (http://pcpartpicker.com/b/R0H) but the graphics card doesn't seem to perform as I expected. I was playing dayz epoch and it struggled to get up to 60 fps when most settings were on normal and anti-aliasing disabled. Is this the cards power, or is something wrong? I am fairly certain the drivers (bios and gpu) are all up to date because I have checked them many times. I thought the gtx 770 was supposed to run games like this on max settings with no problem? Can someone suggest something? (I am running windows 8)

try updating drivers to beta ones see if any difference also could be a defective video card or many times there is a software issue that causes this sometimes a program can interfere with certain games. go to start and in run window type msconfig press enter and in there disable all startup programs and reboot and see what changed in fps in game. As a last resort re install windows.
