So i'm thinking the one thing that's slowing my whole computer down is the memory or the hard drive. It takes an exceptionally long time to boot up and just opening up a game seems slow. This hasn't happened before. There's other weird things happening in the system. Like when i put the computer to sleep the mouse/keyboard doesn't turn it back on anymore. I did get a BSOD once while my roommate was using the internet (he was just on Reddit) but he shut it down before i could see what it was. The system is fairly up to date. I backed down the clocks on the 4770k to stock and the video cards. I backed the clocks down to stock for now because it seemed the AX850 couldn't handle it when both were oc'ed. Suggestions?
i7 4770k @ stock
Kraken X60 cooler
Maximus IV Hero
2 x Sapphire HD 7970's @ stock
WD 1TB 7200
1600mhz G.Skill memory
AX 850 PSU
i7 4770k @ stock

2 x Sapphire HD 7970's @ stock
WD 1TB 7200
1600mhz G.Skill memory
AX 850 PSU

It's not your storage subsystem. On the same machine here I boot in15.6 seconds from SSD
16.5 seconds from SSHd
21.2 seconds from HD
It would seem as if your OS install is borked.... I';d suggest reinstalling windows.
The AX860 can handle two of those cards and a CPU OC'd.
What no way my windows 8 boots in less than 5 seconds with SSD.

I do agree that the AX 850 is far more than enough for your system it couldn't have been the power supply giving you the problem.

I do want to get another large SSD once i can afford one. (The other is in my 2600k system which runs much faster) Yeah i guess i've been trying to procrastinate on reinstalling the OS because of how many games, movies, files are on the computer but i guess i have no choice...

Man windows 7 kind sucks for boot times i dident know it takes that long to boot with an SSD. And i thought that you were saying that 15 seconds is the fastest boot time for windows in general on a SSD. I wasent aware windows 7 was that much slower for boot times.

Although i am in the same boat as you with an x58 system and random bsods i will give you some points to check.
Most probably must be 2 things
1. Maybe the ram is not very good quality, set it at 1333mhz or loosen the timings, or
2 It might be some power states of the cpu. Try to disable eist, c1/5/6 or so or maybe disable power limit on vcore in the bios. Sometimes when there is flunctuation on the cpu vcore is responsible for this
Its not recommended as this will make your pc more power hungry but at least you will find out if these are the cause
3. Also check or replace sata cable or change in which sata you connect your hard drive. I've seen a lot of sata cables go bad mysteriously.
4. Confirm that you have good airflow on your case. Good intake and especially good exhaust.
Sometimes there are blind spots on northbridhes or southbridges that contribute to the problems.
Hope i helped you
