Anyone know how to get W7 to stop doing this?

So I'll be editing a file name and suddenly the system will act as though I just hit the enter key and if I am taking out a load of text it will go back a load of pages. It does it frequently, anyone know why?

Sorry about the delayed response but year I scan for threats all the time. BTW, it's just started to do it with Chrome as well, I will be clicking a folder on Chrome, going dow the list and sudenly it will act as if I have just clicked off.

are you able to live boot a linux distro? if not go into safe mode and see if it happens, also try another keyboard.
if it doesnt happen ilinux / safe mode it is software problem most likely a virus, also check any keyboard drivers you may have and make sure you dont have a script set up or anything.
to be honest it sounds like a batch script that is automatically pressing the key every now and then

Next time it happens I'll reboot into safe mode and see what happens. Thank you for the assistance
