Hello there,

I want to build a workstation mainly for Maya, Mudbox, RealFlow and Adobe CS5. My budget is 3,000-3,300 euro (in The Netherlands).

Here are the specs I'm locking into so far:

CPU: INTEL Core i7-4960X Extreme Edition
Graphic: PNY Quadro K4000 Kepler - 3 GB GDDR5
Ram: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum PC-geheugen-16GB-DDR3-1866- 8 GB x 8
Board: ASUS RAMPAGE IV REPUBLIC OF GAMERS - BLACK EDITION
SDD: SAMSUNG Samsung 840 EVO MZ-MTE250 - 250 GB
Hard: WD Interne harde schijf Caviar Red WD30EFRX 3.5" - 3TB x 2
Cooling: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i

I didn't decide about the screen yet. Performance and resolution equally matter. I want only one screen and it should be 21" and above.

Please give me your best opinion, suggestion and advices for performance, compatibility, etc...

Thanks in advance.

I'd lean more towards a workstation class board like the WS .... but only if you know how to download and rename a BIOS file

GFX - AFter all else is done, buy the best card ya can afford

The Mushkin 2400s are much faster

CAS x 1000 / DDR Speed

Mushkin = 10 x 10000/ 2400 = 4.17 ns
Corsair = 9 x 1000 / 1866 = 4.82

That's not a hi performance HD.

Cooler - Simply put, you will not be able to sit in a room all day with that cooler if your CPU is OC'd to the point where it is hitting > 55% load overclocked.

If you must have an AIO, grab an H110.....it matches the Noctua DH-14 in thermal performance and is even a hair quieter. But the Phanteks PH-TC14-PE outperforms both and is $40 cheaper than the the H110. Since ya have the tall memory tho.... the H110 may be ya best bet.

With CS5 I'd look at a quality IPS say Eizo or hi end Dell.

That's a lot of good info. Thank you for your answer!

Only one question, for the board, is this the one were talking about?
