The R9 290X is not a good graphics card for OC, I have one and I am extremely lucky to get mine to 1295Mhz core clock stable, many others find it hard to get theirs to 1160Mhz stable. The GTX 780Ti is the fastest card of the lot, and has a much better overclocking capability. Overall, I do prefer the R9 290X, but if you like nvidia defiantly go for the GTX 780Ti. With the R9 290X, it is better at handling greater resolutions and multiple monitors, that may be a good factor in your decision.
