Doom 3 severe GPU artifact (i think)

well, i have no idea what to call this, when i launch Doom 3, sometimes it will perform normally, 1 out of 10 times it ran perfectly fine no issues.

When it does act up, the GPU becomes corrupted and i have to restart the PC, i have seen this happen with failing graphics cards, but it happens on ALL games, not just one. Leading me to suspect a corruption to the driver.

What happens is the video output no longer is stable, the picture is as if it were shredded and flickers all over the place in fine horizontal lines, and the picture doesn't stay in its proper alignment to the monitor. I never had this problem with a Radeon HD 5670, OR my Radeon HD 6950. I currently have two Radeon HD 7850's in crossfire.

At first i thought this was an issue with programs clashing for control, but after ruling that out by running the game without the program in question in the background, and still having the problem, i am led to believe that Doom 3 is incompatible with my hardware, have not tried without CrossfireX enabled yet... will post later on the results.

Running Steam version of Doom 3 with ROE expansion.

My system is:
AMD FX-8320 OC 4.2Ghz
AMD Radeon Memory G-Series DDR3-2133 16GB
ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z
HIS Radeon HD 7850 IceQ X Turbo 2GB (x2 CrossfireX)
7 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm HDD (no RAID setup)
Corsair AX1200i 1200Watt power supply.

I thought i was more than capable to run Doom 3, i can run the pirated version of Doom 3 just fine, and since i wanted to play online with the LMS mod i purchased the game, now i get this mess and it starts in Doom 3, but doesn't stop there, after quitting doom 3 the artifacting is still there. it honestly looks like a strobe light, i can disable the GPU and i get the terrible low res standard windows adapter driver enabled, but as soon as i re-enable the card the artifacting is back, trying to make me have epileptic seizures.

i can't describe it, i will look for a picture or video to post onto this if i find one that shows what is going on.

i disabled CrossfireX and it still happened, i disabled Surface format Optimization and it still happened, i had to create a custom profile for Doom 3 in order to play it, and the custom profile has EVERYTHING disabled, the game looks like trash now.

It makes no sense, as i had this game a long time ago and lost the discs and key, i decided to see if my new machine could play it at max settings, so i pirated it for a test, the pirated copy ran beautifully! so you can understand my shock when the legal copy i purchased the other day via Steam behaves like this. I don't understand how one works and the other doesn't. I'm beginning to think that Doom 3 is trying to kill my PC q.q

Odd, my Steam copy runs just fine-I found that out after several hours of testing. ;)
Looks like we're down to basics, reinstall or install the latest current WHQL video drivers, run DXdiag and reinstall the game and try it unmodified, maybe the mod/s are causing problems, I've a HD mod installed that works, the game actually looks better at 1650x1080 with 4xAA though!

i installed the mods after disabling everything on the GPU for the game. Its the Core game that's all jacked up... I have latest 14.4Beta Display Drivers and every other chipset drivers, everything is up to date... i'll try verifying game integrity.

ADDITIONAL:
I looked into several HD mods, none of which made any benefit. Sikkmod ruined any playability by distorting and interfering with the field of view, at any setting. and the Texture packs just crashed out, what is wrong with my Doom???

Update:
I'm wiling to do a Teamviewer meeting so you can see how my D3 looks with Sikkmod enabled.

I've pretty much given up on Doom3 ever working again, i haven't touched it recently and when i get my computer back into operational standards i'll give it another go, however i may be able to do some things with it on my laptop, will see here in a few days, stay tuned!
