My internet is not consistent ?

I do not know why my internet is so fast then get low, then comes the point where I cannot connect to the internet (0 KBPS).

Last month it was consistent, not this month, I have been downloading music, games and movies (torrent), could I have downloaded a virus ? I do not want to install a Anti virus, it makes my PC lags like hell

3 basic options.

1. something on your PC
2. something with your router/modem
3. something with your ISP

1st of all you should ALWAYS have some antivirus. Even those free versions provide you lot of protection over no antivirus. Most modern antivirus programs should run in background with minimal drain of PC resources. So 1st step you should run full antivirus check to rule that problem out (well it's not 100% but may help). If you had no antivirus so far this may very well be your problem.

After that you can ask your ISP if they have some problems recently and you can try to diagnose problem with them. If they rule out that problem is on their site you can move back to either your router/modem and your PC.
In case of PC best diagnostic is if it happen also on other devices. Ideal is to plug another PC to same router port with same cable. If it will work fine for longer time, your pc got problems if it won't it's either back to ISP or your router.

and I for got to tell, sometimes my internet .... I Dunno ? "time-out" ? it happens randomly, but it happens ALWAYS when I boot my computer up,

Now what happen when the "time-out" happen (takes maybe 50 secs ?) is my speed goes belows or up to 24 KBPs and goes down , now I have no access to the internet when this happen.

it is really fatal specially when I am gaming, getting kick for high ping.
