My computer keeps shutting down without notice. When playing high graphics games (Far cry 3, Witcher 2, Thief) my computer shuts off no with no warning. I did notice CPU temperatures very fairly high, idle temp is around 65C and when gaming is around 80-90C. I tried buying a new cpu cooler for around 50 dollars but it did not seem to do much. My CPU is AMD A8 6600k Quad core in a FM2 socket. Graphics card is a GTX 760 MSI Twin frozer. Help

with a new cpu cooler did you clean the old paste off and repaste the cpu??? air pockets or old tim will cause cpu to run hot or if the cooler not on tight. also check that the cpu cooler fan is spining up under load. some coolers even new can have bad fans that wont spin up. also check that in the bios set the cpu fan off cool and quiet to max speed see if the cpu fan maxes out and cools down. the last isses is if the cpu over clocked or over volted...to much cpu voltage even on stock speed cpu will make extra heat.
On BIOS it says the temp of my CPU is 36-40C and on a third party temperature scanner i use (Speccy) it still says the temp is 50-60. I found a small hiccup in my CPU cooler setup where i had air sucking in through the wrong way but after a quick fix the temp didn't change. All thermal paste was applied in the right in increments. Any other suggestions to lower the temp. Buying watch dogs tomorrow and do not want it shutting down on me while i'm in the middle of a mission
