I'm continually building a new PC. If I put my hard drive from my old PC into my new build will that negate the need of purchasing a new Windows operating sytem? Will all the stuff that I've occumulated the past 2 years pop up on my new build without having to redownload everything? The motherboard I'm looking at is a Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 LGA 2011 X79 ATX. Still new to this DIY stuff. Oh and my old hard drive is a 1TB SATA III.

Okay, windows is tied to the motherboard, and you will need another key, for your new one. Make sure to deactivate any programs(like office or adobe) so you can use them in your next build.

Didn't mean to put it as "problem solved". One more thing, uhm, how do I do that? The deactivating and putting them in my next build I mean.
