Here's my rig (so far):

(Edit) GPU: A variation of the Radeon R9 290

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 16GB
MB: ASRock Z97 Extreme4
Storage: Smasung 840 EVO 120GB SSD/2TB Seagate HDD
Case: Corsair Carbide 200R

(Edit) Power Supply: Corsair CX Series 750W

Cooler: Still looking

Any extra advice on my power supply (750W) and cooler would be appreciated.
If you have any thoughts/advice on my rig so far I'm happy to hear it.

Thanks in advance :D .

In terms of GPU, I'd suggest an R9 290 as they're better than the GTX 770 in pretty much all aspects(either the asus or sapphire tri-x): http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=E...
Benchmarks: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/radeon_r9_290_revi...

If it's liquid cooling you're looking for, this is quite good for the price it's at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

If you're looking to crossfire/sli in the future, this'd be a good PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
(A 750w would be good for one high end card, but for 2 such as crossfire r9 290, It would be too little, and for 2 770s, it will be borderline with a decent quality PSU.) http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-Modular-Bronze-CX7...

It's probably best if you were to take someone elses advice on a PSU if it's price you're worried about.
I know that the PSU I selected is very good, but it may be too expensive for you. In that case, there are others, but I haven't heard of the brands too much, so it'd be good to wait for someones else reply :)

A liquid cooler is no doubt better than an air cooler(in almost all cases), so I wouldn't see the point in Keeno spending 109 when he could spend 70 for a liquid cooler. I have the corsair H55. Corsair are undoubtedly a well-known reliable brand and it usually keeps my CPU under 55 degrees when gaming.

I don't see the point of having a AIO water cooler that has only one 120mm radiator and fan when a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO will do the same job at a much cheaper price. Other than ram compatibility there is no advantage of having a H55 as a cpu cooler. Only the high end AIO water cooler are worth its money.
However, there are some air cooler than can perform the same as an AIO water cooler. The noctua NH D15 will perform the same as a H100i but can perform at a quieter fan speed.

So if you looking for a silent cpu cooler, go for air cooler.
If you looking for aesthetics or ram compatibility go with a AIO water cooler or custom water cooling.

This is my first time building a PC, what do you mean by RAM compatibility?

Also, should I get the Asus R9 290 or the Sapphire Tri-X R9 290?

Sapphire: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Some air cpu cooler heatsinks might prevent certain RAMs with tall heatspreaders on them thus making the air cpu cooler heatsink incompatible with the ram.

Noctua NH-D14! Easily the best. I also have this cooler and it is extremely good, keeps my i7 4930k under 70 degrees when clocked at 4.9Ghz!

Do you know if it's compatible with my system?

yes, it is. With the Case you may have to measure, the space, looks very tight.

I'm open to recommendations for cases I just was working off of a prebuild that had this case. Max I want to spend on a case is around $80.

Also when building the system, are water coolers hard to set up, and what to they connect to in the system?

the Noctua will perform almost identical to any pre-built liquid cooler, for the price of the Noctua, defiantly the best option.

Get a Cooler Master HAF 912 (only if you like how it looks), that will fir the Noctua NH-D14 and the HAF means High Air Flow, so defiantly something to consider. Under budget;

nope, the NH D14 performs better and is quieter.

If you don't like the colour scheme, go for the BeQuiet dark rock pro 2/3. That is on par with performance.

Not the sexiest case, but I suppose it would work well.

choose what case you like, then we can give the ok/no. Never buy a case you don't like the look of.

Hi Keeno99
The Corsair Carbide 200R case has a maximum cpu cooler height of 165mm
The Noctua NHD14 stands 160mm tall so it will fit in your case
If you want advanced physx go for the 770
if not go for the R9 290
Another good performing CPU Cooler but not as bulky as the NHD14
The NZXT Havik 140
This will also fit in your case at 160mm tall
Here is a comparison to the NHD14

Hmm, the Havik looks nice and It looks like it wont be messing with my RAM. The Noctua looks a bit too big.

As far as my case, I want a simple case that does what its supposed to do well within the price range of about $80. A case window is nice but not a necessity.

The Havik is out of stock on Newegg though.

As far as the GPU goes, I like the R9 290 because it seems to preform really well. I want to use this PC for 1080p Ultra settings gaming on games like BF4 and DayZ so whichever GPU is best for that.
