Hi,
When I run many .exe, .msi, or .jar files on my new windows 8.1 x64 machine a command prompt window opens up for a split second then closes. I found out that I can get programs to run if I:
Right-click -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Run as Administrator.
This wouldn't be such a nuisance if I were able to "Run as Administrator" from the right-click context window but that seems to be gone for most applications in windows 8. This seems to happen with built in windows features like disk defrag and what not.
I am the system administrator and have tried turning off UAC, scanning with MSE, Avast Free, and Malwarebytes Free, and updating all my drivers and software.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
And for what it's worth, I'm on a:
MSI GE60 2oe Laptop
Intel i7 4700mq
16gb of ram (8 gb added from stock)
120gb Msata OS drive (added from stock)
750gb Data drive (initially the only drive in the system).
