Hello Everyone,

I browsed numerous forum threads and other websites and could not find an answer, so I decided to post my own question.

I had to build a new desktop system because my old one fried after cleaning out the dust / power supply surge took out most of its components...

The new system is:

ASRock Z87 Extreme4 Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4570 Haswell 3.2GHz Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 1600 DDR3 RAM
Corsair Force 3 180GB SATA III SSD (Saved from the old system)
ThermalTake 600W PSU
and I ordered an ASUS GTX 760 graphics card, but its not here yet.
Win 7 32-bit (yes i know i need to upgrade!, why isn't Windows free?! ^_^ ...)

All the new hardware required me to do a fresh install of WIndows 7 on my SSD, because I couldn't figure out how to get the drivers working without a fresh install. Everything works great so far except when I go into Standby mode, the system has issues Waking back up!

What happens sequentially:

1) Enter Standby (with no apps running other than the OS)
2) Wait a few, then click the mouse/keyboard to wake up system
3) Power "turns on", LED Fan lights up, System starts running, but only for 1 second!
4) System turns back off
5) Power "turns on", LED Fan lights up, System starts running, but only for 1 second again!
6) System turns back off
7) Power "turns on", LED Fan lights up, System starts running, but this time it stays on.
8) "Starting Windows" appears, but then BSOD, saying Windows failed to pull the stored info out of RAM.

What I've done so far to try and remedy:
1) Updated MOBO BIOS to latest version
2) Changed MOBO UEFI settings for boot to disable anything having to do with booting faster (to try and get it to boot slow as possbile so I could see what was happening). When I did this, I didn't get BSOD, but instead a black screen indicating that Windows failed to pull the stored info out of RAM, and suggested updating firmware (but I already did this!).
3) Tweaked Win 7 settings for standby... (i.e. disabled hybrid sleep... changed USB root hub power management settings...etc...)

I can't seem to fix this issue. I can live with just leaving my system on and turning the display off, but I'd prefer to enter lower power standby mode when not using it!

Any help/thoughts/suggestions is appreciated!

All,

Turns out this was an incompatibility issue with the windows 7 32 bit software and my motherboard. I installed the new graphics card, and ended up purchasing Windows 8.1, and now this issue no longer happens. Standby works great!
