I have some network restrictions, using routers or wireless adapters won't solve a thing.

Hi there!

I need help! I live in a building where the admin managed somehow to put some restrictions on my network connection. The network works just fine when it's connected to one PC but I work on two PCs and I need constant connection on both of them. The problem is that I can't share my connection at all: routers, splitters or wireless adapters, nothing works. I can't use a router, I tried 5 different models, I configured them in every way possible, but they wouldn't work. Not even a guy that I've called who has more than 10 years of experience in networking couldn't manage to solve it. He suggested me to use 2 wireless adapters, one for setting a hotspot, and the other one to connect to it. Useless. The adapter has its drivers installed, and it can find nearby hotspots, so I can use it to connect to any available connection, but I can't create a hotspot, I followed tens of instructions and tutorials, I downloaded lots of softwares...nothing worked.

So any solution for this problem? Or at least any suggestion, hints, tips?

Thank you!

The admin must probably be using MAC address based filtering to restrict the number of devices that you can connect. The easiest way would be to go up to him and say that you bought a new laptop and changed your MAC address and give him the MAC address of your router instead of just one laptop.

Otherwise, clone the MAC address of your laptop to your other devices using a free software called Technitium MAC address changer / TMAC. Your router may have in-built MAC address cloning(most newer routers have this option).

For creating hotspots, the best solution is a software called "Connectify".

@hang-the-9 Yes, there is, but I know some guys who managed to set it up properly, and they also have a 1-PC connection. They tried to set our network too the way they did for theirs but they couldn't.

I've tried it before with google but I stopped it on the third timeout, I haven't waited for the packages message so I considered it's no use to send it. Did it again, here it is.
