When considering a new monitor. Is it better to have faster response time rather then higher contrast ratio?

how aboout 7ms and 8ms? does it noticeable and affect my gameplay? *mostly FPS. BF3 & COD*

im planning to get a new rig with new monitor so enlighten me please

IPS isn't really what you are looking for for gaming. IPS screens are much more for the art industry which needs far better color representation than a TN panel can provide. 8ms is rather slow for a screen, you may get a bit more visible ghosting with that screen than with a 5ms panel, but being IPS you are likely paying more for it than you would for a high end TN based panel with 2ms response time.

so is TN panel still stand? altho if an IPS panel with 5ms is quite pricey for me. ive also check TN monitor like BenQ GL2460HM with 2ms response time. is it a good monitor??
