Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3 VS MSI H97 Gaming 3 i'm confused

Hey, so i wanna get a new H97 motherboard.
Went in to get the MSI H97 Gaming 3 and the shop owner told me that there is also a Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3. So i went online and both boards seem almost identical.. What is going on? isnt Gigabyte and MSI rival companies ??

which one should i take ?
what things do i even need to consider ?

also, if the answer is simply "get which one is cheaper" i'd still like to know why..

There are a few differences. The Gigabyte board has more VRM phases, though that shouldn't really matter much. It also has a SATA Express connector. The MSI board has more fan connectors. And there are probably a few other minor differences.

So if your system has a lot of fans to control, the MSI board might be better. Otherwise the Gigabyte board may be the better pick. But price and personal preference also factor in.

The MB fan headers on this board are all controllable and are PWM also, I have this board ---Hate it as it has too many incompatibilities with RAM it drives me nuts :(

Im also deciding which motherboard to buy. I am inclining to msi because of its lag killer feature, and its looks are great. Why do you say that its not good? Is QC quality control? Why is it bad?
Im not planning to OC the gpu and cpu, so am I safe to use the msi??

QC = quality control

Too many customer complaints compared to other manufacturer boards. I refuse to use MSI boards for builds any more. Seems I have wasted too much time figuring out problems and it is usually the msi MB. Then more wasted time with msi or just to RMA the board.

Even though I won't overclock my GPU and CPU? But MSI has cool designs? How about Asrock Fatal1ty? I like that design also.

Gigabyte H97 vs Asrock H97?

well, will prefer the msi h97 gaming 3
I know msi may get many qc problem before,
but at z87/h87 and z97/h97 time, I believe msi did some changes and doing well on their QC
it often seen many other brands also get many hardware problem post on the forum
so? up to you anyway....

Are you sure? because I'm at critical stage of deciding. How about the motherboards below:

1. Asrock Fatal1ty Killer Z97
2. Asrock Fatal1ty Performance H87 (is the z97 all better than H87?)
3. Asrock Z97 Extreme4
4. Asrock Z97 Pro4 ATX (This is Z97, and the cheapest of all)
