I remember when ram standards switched to DDR3 and it wasn't really too big of a performance difference. Do you guys think it will be the same case for the switch to DDR4? I am curious because I know intel's 5th gen processors will support it, and I'm ready to do a build.

DDR4 is most likely going to be really expensive when it first comes out and I doubt it will be needed for everydaytask/gaming (im not saying ddr4 won't have a use/purpose, just in your case I don't think it will be a factor).

Most games arent limited by ram speed these days maybe gpu vRam speed and bandwidth but not the general cpu memory. Besides XB1uses DDR3 and ps3 GDDR5 so DDR3 systems will still be viable for a long times from now.

Thanks for your feedback, that's exactly what I was thinking.
