ASUS Z97-S LGA 1150 RAM Compatibility

I cannot find on the web anywhere a simple list of compatible RAM types, I know it's DDR3 but I want to get the best value of speed-to-price ratio. I'm planning on building a gaming PC and I'm not wanting to buy crazy cooled RAM or stupid crazy overhyped/branded RAM modules. Just something that will work with good to great speed and not too hard on the wallet.

Do you mean the Z97-A, in part will depend on your CPU, if a K model, can handle DRAM up through 3200, but would prob suggest 1866 (CL 8 or 9) or 2133/9. I built with an A last week and 4670K and ran up to 32GB of 2400 Tridents in it, the rig itself went out with 2x8GB of Tridents in 2133/9
