I currently own an HP Pavilion dv6-6c53nr laptop. Overall, I am very impressed with the quality of the laptop. I am interested in possibly upgrading to an ssd drive. My first question is, would it be worth it? From my understanding, the ssd would greatly increase the speed of my laptop. Also, what price are we talking here? Because, the one HP states I could buy on their parts store, product # 666441-001, is $426. I think that might be a little much for me. Can you get them cheaper than that or not? Can my pavilion laptop even be upgraded to ssd? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Run "SPECCY" and find out the specs of the present hard drive. Then you can look at the SSDs available at Newegg of similar specs (or higher specs).

After you buy what you need, do a cloning of the existing hard drive on to the SSD. Then replace the existing drive with the SSD. All will be fine and the computer will run faster and boot up faster.
