Hi,

So I am in need of some help with this problem I've been having with my brothers computer.
The system is newly built, all new components except RAM and Power Supply, the latter being my old one.
Here's the specs:
Asus Maximus VI HERO
Intel i5 4670 3.4ghz
Corsair Vengeance RAM 16GB
Arctic Cooling CPU cooler
OCZ StealthXstream 2 700W PSU
AMD Radeon HD5770

The problem:
The main problem and indeed the only one is the computer shuts down every half hour. Now when I say shuts down it just dies, no warning no shut down sequence, it just goes off.

So far I've tried reseating RAM, using less RAM(I don't have any more DDR3 lying around), replacing the PSU, installing Windows 7, then 8.1, reinstalling Windows, reseating the CPU Cooler. At one point I noticed the CPU was overclocked to 3.5ghz and the target in bios was set to 3800Mhz, I changed this but it didnt help. I also tried enabling Virtualization and disabling C states in the bios, but none of it worked

I timed the Shut offs,
30mins 04secs
30mins 07secs
30mins 02secs
30mins 04secs

........and I'm out of theories at this point.

Can anyone help me?

Sounds like some sort of thermal protection coming in, but again thats a very accurate time for it to shut off. Tried refitting the CMOS battery? Download HWMonitor off the net and monitor your temps close to when it shuts itself off. Then post results if you can.

Oh I also tried just letting it sit on the BIOS screen for 30 minutes, it still shuts off.

Temperatures seem normal leading up to each shut off, but I'll double check.
