I am looking forward to buying 2 ssds. One in 240/256 GB class and other in 480/510 GB class. There are so many good SSDs in market these days, it is easy to get confused. Hopefully you guys will be able to help me out based on my usage pattern.

240/256 GB is for my younger bro. He mostly uses his laptop for browsing the web and some simple document/photo editing. For him I am considering Sandisk x210 because of its low power consumption, sandisk's business class reliability and long warranty. Let me add that I do not live in the US but I am buying these SSDs from the US. Sending SSDs for repairs will be extremely difficult if not impossible. So reliability is high on the list of requirements as well.

480/510 GB is for me. I use my machine for systems programming (mostly kernel programming), web developement, internet browsing and some document processing. While I do not require snappiest of performance, I definitely want my drive to be reliable for the same reason as above. I am leaning towards sandisk because of their 5 years warranty and sandisk extreme 2 in particular because of its cheaper price.

All things considered, I would also want to minimize the total cost. Crucial M500 is definitely a lot cheaper than all the other drives. I am definitely willing to buy it if you guys think it will meet my requirements while not significantly effecting the experience. I have a feeling that I will be hard pressed to find any difference between these drives in day to day usage.
