So i just ordered myself a new pc, as the current one turned 3 years old. My screen is almost 7 years old, and has a couple dead pixels, and doesnt always want to turn on, so i figured i'd fork out the cash for a new one since i'm getting a new rig anyway.

The pc has an Asus Geforce GTX780 OC 3GB, and i use the pc mainly for gaming, lots of movies/tv-shows etc.

I dont play crazy FPS or World League SC2, it's mostly games like World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Diablo 3 etc. I'm planning to pick up Watch Dogs, Wildstar, Witcher 3 and Dragon Age 3 this year, which is why i really wanted a new pc.

However i know absolutely nothing about monitors. A friend says "wait for a G-sync mate", but i dont really see the need for it unless playing seriously FPS demanding games + it's a new technology.

Then there's the 60 Hz vs 120 Hz issue - i'm pretty lost here.

I've had "reliable Intel" from good friends who says 1080p isnt great for 27 inch monitors, and that i should go for 1440p, which sounds logical.

I want a 27 inch monitor, but i dont know if Hz or resolution matters the most.

I'm thinking that i get more out of buying a 1440p than a 120 Hz (doesnt seem to be possible to have both at this point in time).

I've been looking at this monitor, it seems pretty rad, and has gotten awesome reviews. Bit expensive, so thats my absolute max budget.

From all the other monitors out there, I would personally go with the one you have linked at the bottom. All the other monitors I have seen seem to be pricey and not very good quality. This one looks like a keeper. But this is completely your choice. If you were to go for another brand I would recommend Samsung.
