New mobo and OS now have sound issues

Hello, So I installed a new mobo and OS went to 8.1 but I'm getting sound issues with my sound card. I have a Asus xonar essence stx and for some reason any option but dolby digital live picked with headphone and 2 channel I get no sound or I get static when I try pcm option. any idea whats causing this? I installed the drivers for it and the drivers for my astro mix amp also and still same issue.

you are not alone with this problem.. it seems to be a settings problem between windows and mixamp
did you plug your headphone in other usb ?
did you remove the sound driver from your motherboard?
it look like a fight between mixamp + integrated sound on mobo + windows sound manager

thats what I was thinking. but not sure how to fix it. I only have the headphones plugged into the mix amp which is plugged into the back of the pc. No I didnt remove the sound driver from my motherboard.

ha I figured it out! was simple once I sat and thought about it. thanks for giving me the ideas they helped!
