It's completely your choice. They both look like great cases with good cooling. One isn't better than the other, it's completely down to opinion. So go for whichever you prefer. :)

To be honest however, I have the Corsair Carbide Spec-01, and I absolutely love it, both for features and design. The Spec-01 is also cheaper than the 200R you desire. Of course it's completely your call.

If you're going to watercool, based on my Corsair case and the 200R manual, I believe it would be better to go for the HAF 912, as it has Watercooling Outlets (cutouts) whereas Corsair doesn't. But if you're going for an all-in-one watercooling solution, such as Crosair Hydro, then it's not necessary to have watercooling outlets.

When purchasing a case, just ensure that your PSU and GPU will fit in. Most cases will say on their specification page the maximum length PSU/GPU they support. Also ensure that your motherboard will fit; not that it's a problem, most cases support both uATX and ATX.

All the best.

Thank you! But I found the 500r for $80 on newegg and... No one can compete with that.

If I had to choose I'd go with the spec 02 :p  my mobo is h97 d3h
And r9 280x sapphire.

It'll fit no problem

Indeed, that is an amazing case with gorgeous cable management. It's also greater in height from both the HAF 912 and the 200R. Just ensure it fits within your desk. If you're willing to spend that much, it's completely up to you if you want to purchase it. They're all great cases with cooling.

Unfortunately a few cases I desired didn't fit into my desk, so I had to purchase a Corsair Carbide Spec-01, and to be honest, I have no regrets; I actually prefer the Spec-01 from my original choice.

To be honest as long as the case has cable management and good airflow, the rest is opinion based and more focused on design. Of course you may want certain features, such as tool free HDD/SSD installation an so on. In my opinion, the 500R is a great case, and also looks the part too.

It's completely your call on the case. All the best. :)

Hello. I am looking at buying the spec, how is it? I am coming from a flimsy rosewill Ranger m, so how is it. 1hdd 1ssd, a micro atx motherboard, and a cx430. Is it reasonably sized?

The Carbide Spec series are great cases in my opinion for the price. Size wise, internally I have much more room than I need; it also has a decent amount of room if you're into SLI/CrossFire. The case supports both ATX and microATX motherboards.

The case also provides cable management, so all your wires can go at the back; then again so do most cases these days. All your components should fit in the case with a lot of room spare.

If you do buy it, you should know that it comes with one case fan for intaking air at the front. I would buy at least one more fan for exhausting air at the back of the case.

All the best. :)
