First of all, congrats for this great community, you all do an amazing thing helping people.
My problems started like a week ago, my good old computer just turned off, and no success at trying turn it on, so I checked the psu, with the clip, it was dead.
So I went to the store and bought a new one, memory was cheap so I bought a 2gb ddr2 stick, and some thermal paste because my CPU was running a bit on the hot side (50c idle)
So I installed everything and... No post, I turned off the psu switch and I gave it another try, success. The computer was OK, everything worked, memory was recognized, CPU temp went down to like 30c. The only problem was on boot, I was getting post after a couple of tries, and like 3 days after, no post at all.
I followed the troubleshooting sticky thread, check with other psu, reapplied the paste, now I have it out of the case, just CPU, psu and a memory stick, same problem, no beeps. (it has a speaker) I should mention that my mem stick has leds over the thermal solution , the turn on a few seconds and then they turn off.
It's my beloved oldie really dead in your opinion?
