Only computer with high latency on my home network

So i ave recently built my own pc, bit of an overkill rig but i am having issues with the wiress (or so i think)

when running games I am experiencing high ping/latency, other computers/laptops on the network are fine with no issues at all.

I set the PC up next to the router and wired it up and the latency was then fine, no problems. Also tried it next to the PC just using wifi and the latency was still the same.

I have run Latency optimizer/ installed latest drivers for my wifi card which is ASUS PCE-N53 Dual-Band Wireless-N600 Adapter.

I am running windows 8.1 and ping to my router is fine with it being 2 or 3ms average.

Have been pulling my hair out trying to find why it is tormenting me so any help would be very much appreciated.

Are the other running the same game though? Often you may have things rise when gaming on a heavily loaded server

I'm running the same games at the same times, latency is usually anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand higher that other wireless computers running the same games at the same time

Is it static - i.e. does it stay that way if you are the only one connected? If so might check you have the latest BIOS and mobo drivers....also want the latest drivers for the card.....and....might check around behind the case and try and isolate any power cords, power strips, UPS, etc as far as possible from the antennas on your card (this is one reason I prefer USB adapters, the power cords, et al can cause interference

Yes, have tried every combination of playing the same game through wi-fi, through wired, being the only one on the network playing the game wired and then wifi, I always seem to get very high latency/ping when playing just wifi.

doing a speed test showed all computers receiving the same bandwith from router.

Yes, all mobo drivers have been installed, had to install the latest driver for the Asus N53 wireless card before even putting the card in the machine, due to windows not being able to boot up with the card in the machine.

Do you have another desktop you could try the card in? ....this is one of those where I'd like to have it in my shop and see, because it could be a lot of things, sorry can't offer more :(
