Hey guys! I am wondering if a 500W PSU would power my PC rig. My components would be Corsair Vengence RAM, a AMD Phenom II X6 1055T, an MSI R7 260x OC Edition, and a few fans and an aftermarket CPU cooler. If you need to know more just ask! Thanks in advance to everyone.

It really depends on the brand and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) of the power supply.

I am running my A6-5400k, MSI r7 260x OC and 12 GB of ballistix sport on XFX 550W http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb...

A quality power supply is rated on its continuous wattage whereas other power supply are rated at their peak wattage which lasts for less than a minute or a couple of seconds.

A Radeon R7-260X needs 19 amps on the 12v rail and a 450 watt power supply.

What power supply do you have , if it's a CX500 it's sufficient to power your specs.

a 260x only uses 100-125 watts.

but this begs the question:

*what* 500 watt PSU?

there is junk out there that has problems with 350 watts . . though i suspect your total power draw will bel less.

The CX500 has 38 amps on the 12v rail more than enough for your setup.

Your all set.

It is all good. I was running similar configuration on a CX430.

click on the MSI R7 260X OC bar and see 167.9 watts for a game load. yours will be slightly more but your fine.
