I was thinking between the two
Asus GTX770 DirectCU II OC Videocard 2gb-256bit Pcie Ddr5
ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II OC 3GB 384bit
Single monitor playing only. I am planning to watch 3D movies with this monitor. Can the GTX 770 handle most demanding games on ultra settings +3D or I need a much stroger card which is GTX 780?
Thank you in advance.

Go with the single 780 so in the future you can add another one if you want. ( triple 770 s is not that good in my opinion)So a single 780 can maximize the potential of this display? It's a 1080p 120hz 27" monitor. For a single monitor 1080p resolution, isn't 780 a bit overkill?

That's what I was saying, go with the 780, just was mentioning that I have a pair, and never know may want to think SLI in the future
Single card is great also and these OC very wellHi Tradesman1,
There were some posts that you convinced me to get Asus motherboard instead of MSI and your broad knowledge to this topic is exceptional! To which I must ask, will a single 780 maximize the potential of this display? It's a 1080p 120hz 27" monitor. For a single monitor 1080p resolution, isn't 780 a bit overkill?

Depends on what you are after...a 770 (or under) can run the display at lower settings and framerates, the 780 will provide for higher FPS and higher settingsI want the best possible like ultra settings. They say that 780 is a bit overkill for a single display with only 1080p resolution. Some says that 780 is better for resolution higher than 1080p on multiple monitor. I read that since 1080p and single display is the thing, they say that 770 is enough. You will only notice the difference in FPS on 780 if you play on resolution higher than 1080p and on multiple displays. Otherwise, single display with 1080p resolution 770 can be on par with 780. That is what they all say.
