gpu idle temp?

so when i first start up my system, my gpu(gtx 760) jumps to 42c. however, when i open google chrome, it jumps to 50c. i might also add that i was messing around ocing it with evga precision x previously and only now have i begun to notice this.

Could be a number of things -

Having it overclocked with just the stock cooler

Having a dirty cpu cooler.

Having a cpu cooler that is not seated well on the cpu.

Low cpu cooler fan speeds

High Vcore

Poor motherboard voltage control

Poor voltages from the power supply.

Download and run HWInfo - Sensors and post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar
