how to read a scratched dvd??

hello i have a dvd with small scratches but there are some important data in it unfortunately my dvd drive cant read some data of that disc so plz someone tell me how to recollect the data from that dvd???
i have tried some softwares but it didnot work tried toothpaste and other methods it also didnot worked for me

You can try to buy and use a DVD polishing kit. They do much better than toothpaste and a rag, and they are designed to polish down the surface of a DVD until the scratch is so shallow that the player can read it again. It may take some time, depending on how bad the scratch is. I think it is important that you do NOT polish down a shallow "groove" just where the scratch is. The DVD polishing systems polish down the entire DVD surface uniformly so it is still flat.
