PUS cable extra pin 2x1 HELP? GTX 780Ti Problem?

Hi, I have a question regarding power supply.
On my power supply, I have my video card cables that looks like this, it stands out a 2x1 pin on each cable.
What are they for?
I came upon this recently when I ordered home a GTX 780Ti when I need 4x2 and 3x2. But it does not seem like they fit in the graphics card after my test, there is an edge to the side that is in the way.

In the picture I show including every. On the GTX 780Ti I show the red mark where my regular cables to sit, but it is 2x1 with purple marker that is left over, is it for that extra wire on the side? It does not fit, so how should I do?

Do i have to buy a new PSU?

  1. The two-pin connecter should snap onto the side of the 6-pin to make an 8-pin connector. For the 6-pin, it's not needed.

So, the 780ti requires 3x3, thats a normal PCI-E, and the second power input requires 3x4, than i need the normal PCI-E and including the two pin?
  3. 780ti requires 1 6pin and 1 8pin which would appear as 1 2x3 the 6pin and 1 2x4 the 8pin. A 780ti oc model like the one I have will take 2 8pin power connections for a little extra power.

So the 2 pins connector fits in the 4 pins slot?

    The 3x2 + 1x2 go in the 4x2 slot. (I think that's what you're saying)
