Yes Hello I was just curious if it is at all possible to remove the entire direct contact cooling solution that Asus has engineered on a R9290x Graphics card, I want to add my own VRM heat sinks, and watercooling solution, and better quality thermal paste.

Thanks for your professional insight on this.

Before i begin , yes it should work in tandem , i dont know any water cooling products but you can check manufacturer's site for the same (Mostly they do) , Also you have a mighty Full Tower , i wouldnt hesitate then.

If i have to suggest i would still suggest a Kraken G10 and a compatible Liquid CPU Cooler along with it :
Here's the link for checking the comaptible GPU and CPU Cooler , and your GPU is supported !
http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/138-kraken-g10-gpu-bracket.html

One more thing , i have no experience in water cooling any products neither am i in a position to suggest you on the same.

Even if i have to i would just suggest a simple G10 thats all , it just works , i cant assure you that you would get amazing...

Not being rude but "Obviously" is not helping me at all here, also watercooling components are becoming more streamlined nowadays, in my personal opinion it would be silly not to watercool anything period.

I do need some hard evidence that this is possible though, or heck even a compatibile GPU watercooling bracket like the kraken would be nice I just need to varify that everything will work in tandem.

My build

Even my friend didnt wanted to go the water cooling route , bcoz he was a bit afraid and seriously he didnt have any experience either.

I hope i was able to suggest you (from my point of view) a viable solution for your need.
Thanks.

Hey that's fine man I appreciate it alot, I was contemplating on settling for the kraken tbh i mean its got good reviews and i hear nothing but good things about it. On top of that why not watercool your gpu anyway and get more solid performance you know?

Yes , you're right.
To be honest the Kraken G10 really makes you super easy to cool your GPU it has a backplate and also has a 80m fan (i guess) to cool off your VRM chips on the GPU , so in total it has everything you need.
Plus it looks cool , you can custom paint that GPU Bracket , Also as much as i know pretty much many coolers apart from NZXT's own are supported and that's a boon !
NZXT is top notch when making Quality Products , if you see their product range in a short span of time , they have really even put a strong competition for brands like e.g Corsair who charge much for quality products.
Do let me know on what you choose and how it goes overall for you.
Just take care of the warranty thing , if your GPU is gone for RMA , you may need to put that heatsink you got from the manufacturer.Otherwise no RMA.
Anyways,
I'm glad i could help you.It was nice talking to you.
