Create a USB Recovery drive for backup, then delete the Recovery Partition using Disk Management.
You'll need an 8 or 16 Gb USB Flash depending on the size of the Recovery Partition.
Simply type 'Create' at your Start Screen and choose 'Create Recovery Drive'. Check the box to copy the Recovery Partition... (Everyone who has a new laptop should do this in case of disk failure, also the upgrade from 8 to 8.1 has been known to cause problems with the Recovery Partition...)
