Solution
Amazon.com doesn't ship to india.... as far I I know..... you'll need to go to amazon.in, which I doubt even has GPUs listed.....
They are still setting up shop here, not fully operational.
The R9 290 starts from 32K.... Sapphire here
http://www.primeabgb.com/computers/buy-online-graphic-card-video-card.html?gpu_chip=461&manufacturer=240

And 35K and 37K here
http://techshop.in/store/index.php?cPath=320_4

And on amazon.com the price is 522USD....

You'll not be saving anything.... on the contrary you'll end up paying more for after sales services.....
Have you bothered to check the...

Have you bothered to check the Warranty policy from Sapphire and the Policy from Amazon???.... err .com.

The duty happens to be 16.85%.... as per
http://woikr.com/misc/custom-duty-rates-on-select-electronic-equipment-in-india/

PS: An I think you want to give it to your "Niece" , it's a "Nice" card to give to a nice "Niece"....

Ya ..
instead of buying card from amazon.com buy it from any indian web site which will be helpful
coz after adding custom duty that product price become higher than u get in indian seller

Used or new???? Amazon sells both.... you need to check what you're getting....
And junglee, as all indian stores is going to first try and make a monkey out of you..... first time buyers especially ones who feel that .com is purer than local.... DO get taken for a jolly ride.

I can vouch for both these e-retailers, prime and tech.... since I must've bought over 500K worth of PC parts from them in the past 4 years.... and believe me, I never had a complain.... prices, on the other hand do work out a little more expensive from the local store, but, that the cost of not having to go shop to shop and haggle with these guys and stand in the heat.
The price of convenience is really measly.

prime is good, itdepot ...... never dealt with them, but, I had a few queries here at toms about stuff bought from them before. And snapdeal, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole ..... the name itself makes you feel like it's a big con.....
Aren't these the guys who are advertising on telly all the time..... snap this snap that and sell it on snapdeal.... whatever made you think you could get a reliable GPU from snapdeal.
