Will a Gigabyte GA 78-LMT S2 be able to withstand a fx 8320 proc ?

So in theory it should work. BUT - it's a crap motherboard. Only 3+1 power phases, VRM not heatsinked and you can't use it for overclockiing.

Get a 990FX chipset motherboard for that cpu. egASRock 990FX Extreme 4

+1 , i agree with i7baby get the asrock , a much better board with great features and better overclocking
You will like the Xfast Lan - will give you faster internet speeds
Xfast Ram - will Create a ram disk whatever size you stipulate and speed up your O.S. by letting you store all your cache files in
memory making your browsers faster and also programs like photoshop etc
Xfast USB will turbo your HDD's,SSD's and USB sticks

Those features i think weigh very little, it's not a great board because of these. Don't believe all the marketing crap they sell you.

agreed , the features don't make the board , that is a good board though

The ASRock has 8+2 power phases - better voltage control eg overclocking plus a Heatsinked VRM

yeah, those features don't really matter much.
but still a good board, i am using an extreme4 (z68), and it's around 4yrs old or 5 i think. it's still running fine, oc'ed at 4ghz
