Possible Dead Motherboard

Hello everyone! New person here. I kept finding threads that lead here while trying to figure out my issue so I decided to join and see if anyone can help me. First off my computer is a P Pavilion p6130y Desktop PC with my motherboard being a Pegatron M2N78-LA with the Phenom X4 9750 and full spec sheet can be found here.

My issue started last night. I have a probably dead external hard drive (which I am frustrated over as well but thats another issue), that I was trying to get my pc to see. I unplugged it from the USB and reconnected it repeatedly hoping to get the PC to pick it up. While doing this my computer shut down. I thought it was weird and turned it back on, a few minutes later it went off again. It did not restart, just off, boom, it shut down. It kept repeating this all night.

This afternoon it got worse, after I took the heatsink off to replace the thermal compound just in case it was that, the machine no longer turned on at all. No video to the monitor, the fans go on then go off after a few seconds.

My video card is a GT 430, the fan was not wanting to turn unless I started it, so I removed it to see if it was that, nope. Still shut off. I replaced the power supply, still shut off. I mean the fans would start and then stop, the machine seemed on but since the fans stopped I shut it down to not burn the CPU. I put a new fan on the heat sink, still no difference.

The only thing I can think of now is the motherboard. I am looking for help on getting a motherboard that fits my CPU because whatever I get will have to go on a credit card, I've been laid off almost a year, just finished school with my Bachelors and am having a lot of trouble finding a job. I'm running on what I have left in my checkings so a new PC is out of the question, as that's been recommend to me by groups on Facebook and well, while it would be nice, its not feasible. This is why I am looking for something that will work with the CPU I have, and the 8GB of DDR2 ram it came with. While I would like a nice good upgrade, its not possible.

If anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Oops I think I set this thread wrong, I would not mind a discussion format. I did not imagine such an old board to cost so much. I think I am going to be in much more of a problem than I thought.

I don't mind a fresh install of Windows, it would suck but as long as I could keep the current one so it gets set to "Old.Windows" and not overwrites, I would be ok. That way I would not lose data on the hard drive. It's not a stock hard drive I had replaced it just some months ago. The worst is the external drive I think is dead in terms of losing data.

So with the option of reinstalling Windows, I can get over if the price is better.

Thanks.

Thanks. I'm going to look at that one on Amazon. Would that fit the 4 2GB sticks of DDR I have, and have room for a graphics card, and enough connections for the hard drive, 2 DVD drives and such? And that would work with the CPU I already have? Sorry for all the questions, I just cannot make any mistakes. There is a link in the questions for that item, it lists a website for compatible CPUs. I see it lists AM2+ but I do not see that it goes up to 3600 BUS which the specs say is what mine is.
