A cheap motherboard to do safe overclocks

Good day all

Please could someone help me i am new to the forum ( Im not sure if this is the wrong place to post this)

I live in south Africa and tech is very expensive here. I wanted to overclock my FX 6300 on a MSi 970A G46 mobo. apparently its a bad motherboard for this, so i need a new one my budget is slim (R1000 - R1400) you can check prices at http://www.pricecheck.co.za/

i was thinking about a :

Asrock 970 Pro3
Asus AM5A78LMU3
MSI 990fxa-gd65 V2
Asus H-81 plus
Asrock Fatality Professional

Im not shure ? i wanted to overclock using a Hyper 212 evo heatsinc, to around say 4.4 ghz ?

also what do i do with my old one :p ?

Solution
Best to wait a bit until you can afford the 990. How much you'll be able to overclock will be down to how good a CPU you have the fortune/misfortune to get - that's the point of overclocking, to get the max speed your particular example can reach. But the key thing is that it will be your CPU limiting the overclock, not the motherboard holding it back, and you'll have the best chance of long-term stability.

Btw other upgrades you should consider would be an SSD or a RAM upgrade to 8Gb (I would make an SSD the priority)

Have you actually tried overclocking with the current motherboard - you will be able to do it, the question is how much, as the motherboard may be the limiting factor, rather than the processor. Have a go with it and see where you get to before you spend on new hardware

-------------------------------------
I have read forums all over ant there are a lot of people who strongly recommend not doing this. This is a big investment for me :p... is there a way i can try without risking anything ? most people say the motherboard will eventually give way.

thanks for reply

If you don't wanna risk it, then don't.... the motherboard isn't suddenly gonna die the moment you start overclocking, the risk is that you may shorten its life by running it at an overclock for a sustained length of time.

The cooler you suggest is an excellent choice btw

thanks.... looks like msi 990FXA-GD65 would be best. sadly it is out of my budget.... so there no way id get away with a 970 chipset ? well i guess its best in the long run. so how much would i be able to overclock with these specs ?

mobo: 990FXA-GD65 (if i got it )
gpu : gigabyte HD7850 oc editon
PSU : coolermaster GX 550
RAM: corsair vengence 1600 mhz 4 gb
HDD: seagate 500gb 7200 rpm
CPU: amd FX 6300
Heatsinc: Hyper 212 evo (if i got it )

should i just upgrade my ram ? i dont have much to spend. what would you do in my position ? maybe i could oc my gpu, would it work on current mobo or would i have to use the one above ?

Thanks XD
