i am planning to buy a new pc for gaming

AMD CPU FX 6300

Kingston 8GB / DDR3 / 1600MHz / Desktop

ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 Motherboard

Gigabyte R9 270X OC 2GB GDDR5 Windforce 3X (GV-R927XOC-2GD)

i know nothing at all about overclocking and i am not planning to do OC but incase ...

is the motherboard good for overclocking i can see the GPU is already overclocked will the MB be okay with that gpu ?

i won't overclock the cpu but if i did what the situation will be like ?

The board will do fine with the GPU and mild CPU overclock.

Not the greatest for overclocking, but like rolli59 said, it'll handle a mild overclock. You could probably get it to 4.0 or 4.1 GHz, but I don't think it'll go much higher, though of course you could get lucky, and like rolli59 said, your motherboard should do just fine with it. As for what the CPU overclock would do, probably not much but that's game dependent. You have a fairly well balanced build there so you shouldn't experience too much in the way of CPU bottlenecking but if you do, the overclock might alleviate that CPU bottleneck slightly, but it's game dependent on whether or not there'll be any bottleneck in the first place and whether or not any overclock might help. But like I said, it's fairly well balanced anyway so there's probably won't be too much of a bottleneck in the first place.

Get a 990 series motherboard - that will do you much better for overclocking

The board is not incapable of overclocking, but as suggested above it isn't going to clock as well as an FX 990 board-nor should you push it that far. More importantly for that CPU will be good cooling, I wouldn't try overclocking with the stock heatsink. Get a decent cooler and you should be able to hit 4.0 Ghz without much trouble.

The GPU will be fine - just make sure your PSU is up to the job

The GPU overclock has nothing to do with the board so it will be fine. The board affects only CPU overclock.
