I'm looking to get a either the HD7970 lightning (£200) or the 4Gb GTX680 classified (£230) over the next few days.
Shadowplay is important to me as I'm currently regularly using FRAPS (I don't like the file sizes/ performance hit). I play at 1440p (but only tend to record 1080p @60fps anyway).
I play BF3/4, Assassins Creed 3, Batman: AO, and Rome 2.
I'm leaning towards the 680, because of SP and the 4Gb frame buffer (for possible SLI down the road), slightly lower TDP, but I know the 7970 OC is a beast for just raw performance.
Any views, comments, things I've overlooked/missed? Thanks in advance.
My specs:
I5-3570, 8Gb HyperX 1866MHz, Corsair RM550

I would personally get the 680 just because of the 4GB of VRAM for SLI and ShadowPlay (if I was recording). Otherwise the cards are pretty much equal.

I'm moving this thread to the Graphics and Display section and you will both be linked to its new position in an e-mail.
