If you already have the b75m motherboard stick with the i3 3220.
If you want a FX6300, choose this motherboard: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3p
Either is fine.

If your gaming the the extra cores on the fx 6300 will benefit alot and give you better performance, it is also cheaper when factor in the cost of a good motherboard. Also you can overclock to give really great performance.

In my opinion, intel wins there... and integrates a graphics card.

Only exception: you really (I mean really) sure you do not need a graphics card (even for urgent work when your GPU died because of excess gaming....that happened to me) AND you want to overclock your CPU (multiplier is locked on that intel), which in turn makes the AMD more loved by many gamers who love to overclock...

OK this is an opinion, but the link is an "unbiased" review...

That Tom's article is pretty much useless, as is adding up total frames and dividing by the number of games tested for an "Average Performance"

Even as bad as it is, it is infinitely better than CPU Boss. That's one big waste of Internet, right there.

A big factor to consider is the types of games you play and how many cores they can use. But overall these 2 CPUs will be fairly close.

Price out all the parts you need and decide based on that.

But for an FX, get a 990FX chipset mobo to prevent problems we see here with cheaper mobos.

And for Intel, look at the 5 $120 -160 Z97 mobos that Tom's reviewed

dude iam on a strict budget.......the one i think to chose is i3 3220 with b75m d3h........i can save money.....i3 + B75M D3H = 10000INR

FX 6300 + Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 Motherboard = 13000INR................

Now tell me??

Get the i3 combo - it's cheaper. Also you should get 990 chipset mobo for fx cpu anyway.

The i3 has stronger single threaded performance. The i3 is better for gaming. The fx would be better for things like video encoding where many threads would be utilized. The i3 is superior in gaming and that is just a fact.

dude i dont wanna overclock at all.......ill just maybe oc my r9 270x sapphire........

the link has games like far cry 3 which i play(fps).....but i see only 2-3fps difference.........i think i3 3220 is not falling behind fx 6300???/what u say???

as i wrote.....i3 + b75m d3h will cost me 11000(max) but the fx 6300 + ga 970 will cost me 13000(min)........i can use the 2000 for a nice cabinet + a cooling fan.......

The i3-3220 is cheaper and will be faster in most games. Get the i3 build.

The only time the FX-6300 will be faster is in games using more than 4 cores, and very few do that.
So the i3 will perform better.
