How can I tell if my Windows 8 copy is OEM? I am wondering this, because I perhaps plan to upgrade my mobo in the future, or even install an SSD, and so I am wondering, is there a way to see if my copy of Windows 8 is OEM or not?

Solution
If you bought it its not OEM. Windows 8 does not have OEM licensing it has personal use licensing that specifically states you can install it as much as you want on as many PCs as you want as long as its only on one PC at a time.

No need to lie to them.

So if I were to replace, say the HDD or the motherboard, I would be able to install my copy of windows onto the new one, yeah?

Ohh, I see, that explains it well! So, as long as I uninstall it fully off the previous one, I can use it again?

correct. You can look up the license agreement here.

www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/UseTerms/default.aspx

its in plain English and pretty easy to understand. You would only find true OEM licensing on a prebuilt by Dell or someone. The system builder version available to the public is a personal use license, unlike the windows 7 OEM version.
