vga graphics adapter

i have an sony vaio which has an NVIDIA® GeForce® 410M GPU listed on its specification. but when i go to device manager it says standard vga graphics adapter. i cant even play games because it says that there is a problem with my graphics card.

does this mean i dont have an nvidia graphics card ?

standard vga graphics adapter means the driver software required for your hardware is not installed, that is why you are experiencing lag

Insert driver CD came with the laptop and install chipset driver,vga driver

To assist you more, you have to tell me exact model number of laptop

Like sony Vaio x5488

Download a NVIDIA GeForce 410M GPU and install it, see if that helps.
