So i'm still having this problem for a while where my pc cannot boot or identify my HDD but it can only identify my SSD. Everytime when i start my pc the BIOS would appear and then would normally load windows 7 but to me, it will just send me back to the BIOS setup and in the setup the HDD would not appear in the SATA information, except the disc drive and SSD. However, some days my computer sometimes starts the HDD and normally load windows 7 but within 10 minutes of use, everything would just freeze or stop responding.

My System Specs
Cpu: Intel i5 4670K
MoBo: Asus Z87-Pro
Gpu: Asus gtx 760 oc

My pc is custom built, its around 5 months old but my system ran perfectly back then, but now the HHD seems dead now. i had scanned the HHD for Viruses earlier but none so far, I have not made any changes in the BIOS.

I've tested my old HDD and it works perfectly, could my new HHD have been corrupted or somehow stuffed up while installing Windows 7 in the early stages then stops working now?

or is there anyway to fix this problem?

A few things:

1) ensure the HDD is on an Intel SATA port no thte ASMedia (dark brown) ports.

2) Check with a different SATA cable.

3) Ensure the motherboard is running the latest UEFI version.

4) Remove any overclock of the system and see if that helps.

5) Check if the HDD vendor has an firmware updates for the drive.

6) Enable "hot plug" on the Intel SATA port the drive is connected to in UEFI.

Thanks for your response i've tried all the options you gave me.

The cables are all connected in the Intel SATA ports

I have swapped 4 different cables, none of them worked

My Motherboard is running at the latest version (1802)

I had not overclock my system and i've also set it to default

I have not really tied updating the HHD yet, because i don't really know how to and i enabled all the "hot plug" in the Intel SATA port but the problem still persist
