The PC vs Console thread

I'm just going to list reasons on why you should play on pc/console

pc:
steam, (although if you're from australia or somewhere where you get ripped off you should go to greenman gaming or something, besides from that, steam is the best platform ive ever used in myh life.)
controls (my biggest advantage)
emulation (<ps2 for the best performance)
resolution (cmon xbox, you seriously can't sitll be at 720p) I never settle for less than 1080p, not even emulating.
older titles, patches, compatibility fixes (playing doom 2 on dos)
User creation (dsfix for dark souls is the best way to summarize this, as well as user created dlc, patches and mods, of course.
pc usage (you should try editing on sony vegas on the xbox, if it even had it)
graphics - for graphics im going to expand
You see, graphics of course look good on a magnificent pc (for e.g. i7 4770k, 2x gtx 780ti's) will make your game look amazing, but i dont have a great pc, infact, my pc is on par with the the ps4/xb1, repping an r9 270x FC, fx 4300 @4ghz, and 12gb ddr3 memory.
From this, i cant really brag about graphics, but also take note that the consoles hardware is optimised for each game, where pc only selected titles are (bf4, batman, bl2), which means that you're going to need better hardware than consoles if you want good graphics, res, fps - which means my pc is worse for games than a gaming console (except optimised titles) and I don't really care however i do like how i can make older titles look better (morrowind, emulated titles, black mesa). The only 2 things i care about are fps and res, as long as im 60 fps @ 1080p i would not care TO much about graphics, as long as i can tell what things are.
networking: dedicated servers for consoles? CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!, last i checked on garrys mod there are thousands of free dedicated servers to play on steam, which means no ps+, xbox live to pay for, also, older game servers don't die out as often (but sadly gamespy just shut down alot).
now for the knowledge part everyone goes into, yeah you do get to know how to fix problems in bios, hard drives errors etc. but most of the time it's just annoying, however personally i have gained an amazing amount of information just from using pcs everyday.
money (now i cant really talk from experience hardware wise but pc gaming is cheaper for games always, and to be honest, pirating games isnt bad if it's serving justice... EA... But besides from that, if you're in USA, you can use amazon as well as steam too)
customization (don't need to elaborate on this to much, but one of my favourite parts of my pc is personalisation, themeing and control, color builds? I think yes.)
games (rts, moba are the biggest pc games, however there are a lot more than just that, I also like the games for pc because you're technically getting more of the game than on the console, and most of the time thats just because of graphics, however the reason i like gaming on pc is controls, fps, res, although not important to me, pcs have a lot faster loading times especially with ssd's, which i don't have, also if you have a beefy rig no fps drops - yay :))
enthusium (best of the best anything, maybe you're an audiophile and love ost's in games, or a graphical maniac, im pleased to announce that the pc is for enthusiasts all the way.)
accessories (in my opinion i think they're mostly gimicks, kb/m ftw, only games i use xbox controller for are fighters/emulated games, stuff like racing wheels, logitech controllers get hard to use and not worth the effort after a while, talking headphones, mouse and stuff though, well there could be another whole topic on them, but to sum it up, you can get the best or the worst stuff, it wont effect ur gaming unless it's really top notch/terrible, i might also note that higher hzs monitors can help.
upgradability, warrenty (optimise your pc for your personal game choices).

Will edit more as it comes, or if someone else posts something i agree/disagree with

console:
exclusives, accessability

I agree that PC is the way to go if you can. But man, you left out a lot on the console side, which shows a pretty huge bias. I guess if you're going to wrap everything up good about consoles in the word "accessibility," we could probably come up with one word that describes most of the stuff you said about the PC.

But for the console side:
- You don't have to worry about settings. If you buy a game for your console, you just know it's going to work just as well as anyone else who has the same console.
- If you're not a geek, you can just plug it in to your TV and it works. You don't have to worry about building the right rig, which video card and CPU will work right together and not bottleneck, setting up controllers to work how you want them, whether or not to overclock, and what kind of cooling to use. You just plug a console in, and it works.
- Price. I can get a PS4 for $400, which is top of the line in the console industry. It would be very hard work to try to put together a competent gaming PC for that price that everyone here on these forums wouldn't laugh at.
- More 3rd party multiplats than I thought don't come to the PC. Try playing Madden on a PC.
- Consoles are made to look nice on your TV stand and usually take up a lot less space than a giant tower for a gaming rig.
- You don't need to wrangle with a wireless mouse and keyboard in your recliner to navigate the OS on a console.

I'm sure there are probably a lot more arguments than I'm thinking of. And for the record, when I have the money, I'm going with a PC, and not a PS4. I have a Wii U for Nintendo's 1st parties, and I feel like PC is the perfect supplement.
