so the question is:

if i purchase an i7 3770k, will i be able to increase the cpu multiplier with my motherboard( ga-h77-d3h)?
if so, to what value?

according to this answered question, i believe the answer is yes

https://communities.intel.com/message/156063#156063

although the entire subject is a bit confusing, and there are different opinions across the web.

just wanted to get a definite answer before i make/don't make a purchase.

Thanks in advance to all helpers =P

h77 or b77 arent overclocking type of mobo so it will be limited but you can do turbo boost. also the answer from that person in the link youve posted isnt clear yet he just said yes and posted the policy from intel about how overclocking affects your cpu

Thanks for your response
iam still not entirely convinced one way or the other, although it seems like that intel dude really didn't pay attention to the question.

will wait for more responses.

update:
i have got an answer from intel, saying that i will be able to increase the multiplier
https://communities.intel.com/message/236823#236823

now iam utterly confused, two answers from intel stating that you can increase the multiplier on an h77 motherboard , or are they just saying that i will be able to increase it to the max turbo boost one, which iam assuming is 39 with that cpu(or can i go further then that?)

would be much appreciated if someone will help me shed some light on the subject.

thanks again.
