Firstly I have a AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series installed currently and thinking of upgrading to and EVGA GeForce GTX780 3GB but can i use them at the same time?

I have 2 screens, one bigger (1920x1080) for gaming and one smaller (1280x1024) for watching movies and other stuff at the same time. But I think it's time for a GPU upgrade. Can I as an example game with the 780 and do other stuff with the 7800?

Thanks for any help.

Even if you can get the drivers to co-exist, you really aren't going to gain anything. The GTX780 is more than capable of driving 2 displays. I really see no technical value in pursuing this course of action.

In the past, there were some custom (kludged) drivers that would allow Nvidia GPUs to be used as dedicated Physx processors for systems with AMD GPUs. In a sense, you would need a similar solution.

If you upgrade, I would recommend keeping your Radeon as a backup GPU or simply selling it.

Look here. Make your selections and then you can arrive at an informed decision:

iKillerChimp is right, the "better" solution depends on how you intend to use your intended GPU.

Between the 2 choices, there is no "wrong" answer.
