I have ordered all the components below but I'm not sure which graphics card to go for.

I was thinking of the GeForce GTX770 2GB but I just cant decide if that is best suited to my spec, if I did go for the 770 which manufacturer Asus/MSI/EVGA/Gigabyte, so many questions!

I'm new to all this so any advice appreciated.(budget £280)

Case: Antec GX500?
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 Extreme 6
Processor: Intel i5 4760k
SSD: Samsung Evo 840 250GB
RAM: 8GB Kingston Hyperx beast (2x4GB)
Cooler: Phantek PHTC14PE
PSU: Seasonic M12 750w

Thanking you

Yeah, the GTX 770 (overclocked GTX 680) & R9 280X (AMD 7970 Ghz) are perfect cards for maxing out 99% of games at 1080p. They aren't miles apart in performance & as as killerchimp says, they leap frog each other depending on a game to game optimization towards either brand. So if they're is a game you live & die on that will gain go that way, or if they're is a game you really want bundled with the card etc... to decide it.

If you were playing on a single 1440p resolution or multi monitor setup, paying a little more & getting the £315 R9 290 would be a good move.

As to brand, you can't go too far wrong as long as the cooler is a nice one. Sapphire for AMD & EVGA for Nvidia would be the ones i'd start with.

Thanks. Hmm which games well I was really into Day of Defeat Source many many years ago but have not had time/money to invest in a gaming PC. Thats all about to change and I'm interested in 'Watchdogs', 'Fallout' series and a bit of a FPS fan.

Single monitor for me I think, will only use two for development work.
